\nAm wondering if anyone is interested in meeting to go through Funding Applications. The intention is to not add extra work to you, however you may be interested in contributing your expertise to this exercise. It could be a way of giving your wisdom to what we should be encouraging or insisting on for the betterment of our students.
\nI now have a growing pile of applications and so I would like start going through the 'early' ones. The due date for applications is Friday 4 March for whole year funding. Let me know if you're interested. \nI mentioned St Pat's Mansfield Park in my previous email to you all - and had a chat with KS about it too!
\nMy idea;

\nFor the team to celebrate Reconciliation Week with a school community - i.e. Mansfield Park.
\n
\nWe\/I\/You, could work with the school community over the coming months to support the development of resources and ideas for Reconciliation in the school. This might include Perspectives across curriculum, Reconciliation Action Plans etc... The idea is that we support the community in developing the ideas and then help them celebrate this during Reconciliation Week - June 2nd. The resources would focus on the theme of reconciliation for a whole year, not just for the 2nd June.

\nWe would build a great relationship with a community that we have had little to do with over time. There could be a great newsletter article and it could promote the work of our team to schools wishing a similar level of support. On another side, I don't often 'see' what the end product of my work in schools is so this would be a nice way to do this and, hopefully, affirm the teaching staff and school leadership team.
\n
\nI'm not suggesting we 'run' the day but rather support the school in doing this and also the connection the school could then make with members of the local Indigenous community. It would also put us in a position together where we would be able to celebrate the day together - if that's what people wanted to do.

I would like to know if as a whole school they will be looking at their whole school Indigneous Ed program and curriculum planning needs to be done before this planning begins. Further how much do they see us helping with this and what will staff be doing by way of engaging Indigenous community artists to support this there plan gor festivities. You would be aware that I did make comment at our team meeting about being able to visit schools or community events during this week and not neccessarily being called upon by schools to be doing cultural studies.
